Lovey L. HammelLovey Hammel is Co-Founder and President of Employment Enterprises Inc., a Manassas, Virginia staffing, human resources, outsourcing and consulting services company founded in 1980. Employment Enterprises Inc. is a privately held women-owned firm that focuses solely on solving workforce challenges. Among the honors Ms. Hammel and her company have received are Washington Business Journal's Top 100 Private Companies, seventh largest Woman-Owned Company, and tenth largest Temporary Placement Agency in the Washington Metro Area; Diversity Business' a Top Diversity-Owned Business Nationwide and a Top Woman-Owned Business in Virginia; Small Business Administration's Entrepreneurial Success of the Year; Inc. magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies; and Working Women magazine's three-time recipient of the Working Woman 500 largest Woman-Owned companies, and the "2011 Seefeldt Award for Arts Excellence" given by Corey Stewart, Chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. Ms. Hammel has received several awards including the "Distinguished Woman" award from the Prince William County Commission for Women, the Washington Business Journal "Women Who Mean Business" award, and the "Horizon Award" recognizing her work in building community partnerships and making a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities through employment opportunities. Ms. Hammel is active in a number of civic, business, and community programs with a special emphasis on education and entrepreneurial programs. Ms. Hammel has founded the Norman Scholarship and is co-chair for the Valor Scholarship Awards. She works with BARN (Benedictine Aid and Relief for Neighbors) to help young mothers increase their skills and break out of the poverty cycle. She is a member of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, Prince William-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce, Women's Forum of Washington, D.C., National CEO Owner's Council, Governor's Advisory Commission on Higher Education, and the Governor's Advisory Commission for University Board Appointments. Ms. Hammel received a BS in Business Administration from George Mason University and was named Alumna of the Year in 1997. She sits on the Board of Visitors, has served on the George Mason Foundation from 1996 to 2005 and was the first alumni chair of the Foundation from 2001 to 2003. |
