Richard L. Coffinberger

Richard L. Coffinberger is the elected Faculty Representative to the Board of Visitors' Committee on' Finance and Resource Development Committee.' He has served as a member of George Mason's School of Management (SOM) Faculty since 1978 and has taught in both the undergraduate program and in the MBA programs. He received the Outstanding Executive MBA Professor Award in 2002.

Coffinberger is a past-president of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB); a former SOM Associate Dean; and a consultant for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). He currently chairs the University Committee to Revise the Faculty Handbook and has for several years been an active member of the Faculty Senate representing the School of Management Faculty. While serving in the Faculty Senate, Coffinberger has been elected as Chair of the Standing Committee on Budget and Resources; Chair of the Task on Salary Issues; and the Senate's Executive Committee.

Coffinberger received his BA degree in with honors Economics from the University of Florida; his MS in Business from VPI & SU; and his J.D. from Wake Forest University where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review. He has published papers in a variety of academic and practitioner journals. He has also served as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Legal Studies Education (JLSE) and on the editorial staffs of both the JLSE and the American Business Law Journal (ALBJ). Coffinberger has resided in Fairfax County for the past twenty-nine years. Along with his wife and two sons, he supports the Reston Dog Park and other animal support initiatives
