William Kristol

William Kristol of McLean has been the editor and publisher of theWeekly Standard since1995. He served as chairman of the Project for the Republican Future from 1993 to 1994 and as the director of the Bradley Project on the '90s at the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee in 1993. From 1989 to 1993, Kristol worked at the White House as chief of staff to the vice president. From 1985 to 1988, he worked at the U.S. Department of Education as chief of staff and counselor to the secretary. He taught at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard from 1983 to 1985 and at the University of Pennsylvania from 1978 to 1983. Kristol appears frequently on ABC-TV's This Week.

His Board of Visitors assignment is the Faculty and Academic Standards Committee.

Kristol serves on the board of trustees of the Manhattan Institute and the Shalem Foundation. He is a member of Sanford C. Bernstein Co., Inc's board of directors and is director of the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs. He also served a term on the Board of Overseers of Harvard College's Committee to Visit the John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Kristol graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in government. He holds a doctoral degree in political science, also from Harvard University.
